Notched Impact Strength

One of the resistance properties of a material is its notched impact strength. This indicates the stress a material can withstand a dynamic impact.

The test is carried out with a special testing device. For this purpose, the workpiece is notched, then clamped in the testing device and exposed to heat or cold. Now an impact pendulum falls from a fixed height continuously with the same energy on the test piece until it breaks.

The test always causes the fracture of the test piece.
